THANKSGIVING- A time to reflect......

Dear friends- My youngest daughter grace was on her bike flying down the sidewalk, lost control of her bike and went, chin first, over the handlebars. Needless to say, the sidewalk won. This was a Sunday afternoon, I was napping while watching the Lions, everyone in the family was relaxerd until we all heard the blood-curdling scream.  Grace walked in the door with quite a gash on her chin, 7 stitches worth and 3 chipped teeth to be exact. My first response to the scream that woke me up was annoyance, don't these (rotten) kids know I am trying to nap here, but after I saw what had happened I really felt bad for her. I also had to console 3 other children who were really worried about their baby sister. After stitches were in and all was done, I was very grateful that Grace was not seriously injured.  It was a good reminder for me to choose to be thankful and to always look to find the good in situations. These are tough times, no doubt, but we all, if we really look, have things to be thankful for. Find what you have to be thankful for today and remember tough times don't last but tough people do.

Until next month,

Howie
